A Few Main Features of Painter NGUYEN VAN BAY

  •     Born in 1934 in Chau Doc- An Giang, Vietnam
  •     Graduated from Art School of Gia Dinh – 1961
  •     Member of Fine Art Association of HCM City
  •     Member of Fine Art Association of Vietnam
  •     Former Professor at Fine Art University of HCM City
  •     Artist Bay Nguyen has gone through more than 60 years of passionate artistic creativity.
  •     He has participated in many expositions inland and abroad. He has had many paintings in an infamous collection and has received many prizes well known in Vietnam and International Art World.
  •     During four consecutive years, 1963-1966, artist Bay Nguyen has participated in all painting exhibitions organized by the Saigon Railroad Directorate for raising a social philanthropic fund.
  •     He has three solo exhibitions in Vietnam.
  •     Took part in the fifth Art Exhibition in Tokyo- Japan, organized by Asahy Shumbun – October 1966.
  •     Took part in the International Art Exhibition- October 1966.
  •     Took part in the Art show in Australia for raising a philanthropic fund for Vietnam- October 1966
  •     Group Exhibition at 55 Dong Khoi 1992
  •     Exhibition of Paintings by 7 Professor at the Fine Art University at 18 Dong Khoi
  •     Fundraising exhibition for Fire Victims in 1993
  •     Annual exhibition organized by Fine Art Association of HCM City

 

Artist Bay Nguyen has been awarded the following prizes

Gold Medal from Esso Art show 1965 for the work “Đưa em vào trường” – Taking little brother to school

Silver Medal from “Giornale D’Italie” organized in Italy 1965 for the work “Chạy Loạn” – War refugees

Bronze Medal and Silver Trophy from P.I.S.A.C. organized in Paris 1964 for the work “Cấu Xé” – Fighting

Literary and Art Prize Saigon 1969 for the work “Tản Cư”- Evacuation

Prize from Roman Catholic in 1965 for the work “Nguyện Cầu” – Prayer

Encouragement Prize from Saigon Fine Art Association 1978 for the work “Bóng Dừa” – Palm Shade
